Easter Around The World. The most joyous day in Christendom sees churches from Maine to Hawaii thronged with the devout as they celebrate the Resurrection of Christ, each in his own way, each in his own faith. , The glory that is Easter is reflected in the facades of churches majestic and humble; it is found in the hearts that worship the miracle that was Christ's passion and the empty tomb on Easter Day. New Yorkers throng to parade along Fifth Avenue, services are held at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington and at the National Cathedral. As the nation rejoices they pause in sorrow - flags fly at half-mast in memory of those heroes who died aboard the submarine Thresher. In Vatican City Pope John gives his traditional blessing, "Urbi Et Orbi" -to Rome and the world. Christ is honored in every corner of the earth on this Easter Day of rejoicing. A sun rise over trees.
