About the only question is who will be his running-mate as cables are strung, personnel briefed and the chairs dusted off. Meanwhile, in Washington, the President has busy days and nights, before he settles down to campaigning. He greets government "interns", students studying government as they work during the summer, and throws a reception for Congressional leaders, to thank them for their work during this session.
